Founding Director of Avanté, Carolyn's arts background has informed much of our innovative approaches and her senior-level management experience enables her to identify with many of the strategic and operational issues facing clients. A published researcher and author, she has a strong track record in organisational development and behavioural science, as well as a broad spectrum of social policy fields.
Her ability to impart hard-to-hear information in a constructive manner has made her a popular choice for those seeking sensitive and often high-profile evaluations, reviews or research. Known for her fun approaches and ability to deliver on task, Carolyn is regularly sought to design and deliver facilitated events and problem solving on behalf of the company's extensive portfolio of clients.
Prior to building the consultancy, Carolyn was a senior manager in a government agency and latterly local government, where her portfolio of responsibilities included management of substantial budgets and significant staffing levels in areas such as corporate and community communications, social work and community development, as well as a pioneering Health Inequalities Unit.
She has been responsible for large scale community-based regeneration initiatives, housing stock transfers and has been engaged in Pacific Rim inward investment activity.
