What we do

Supporting Community Researchers

One of the ways in which we have sought to support good practice in community engagement is by building the capacity of local people in communities to undertake the engagement. This enables those who know the community well to assist in the design as well as take part in the delivery of the methods of engagement. With appropriate training, such approaches assist in reaching the hard-to-reach, secure more in-depth qualitative information, enable a greater range of views to be gathered, provide scope to increase the volume and range of data gathered, provide assistance with analysis, provide a means of assisting with feedback on findings and subsequent plans and build longer-term social capital in a community.
